I enjoyed reading your book it was very informatiive with excellent suggestions for well being. I have one problem I hope you can help me with. Because of years of taking medications for R.A. my stomach is very sensitive to many medications such as asprin etc. I find I am unable to take chondroiten & glucosamine without stomach distress. Unfortunatley, these two supplements are a major part of the arthritis cure. I would appreciate any sugges tions.

  2. I received my “used – good” order – “Maximizing the Arthritis Cure” today. I would NOT say it is in “good” condition. Bottom right corner looks like a dog chewed it up, pages are highlighted, and there is personal information handwritten on the back page, that probably someone doesn’t want there. Definitely not worth the money!! If it had listed as “used – fair”, I would not have been surprised at the condition, except for the personal injfo on the back page.

How much can these guys capitalize on the same information? Holistic health people in the know have been recommending proper nutrition (including glycosaminoglycan and EFA supplementation), proper exercise, posture, and movement mechanics, whole body purification regimens involving herbs and fasting (not included in this book), and other regimens for years before they were written in this book. However, the medical orthodoxy has largely ignored this or even labelled it quackery. As an example, I have a publication from the Arthritis Foundation published in the late 1970s that states any attempt to treat arthritis with dietary modification is quackery. Boulderdash! It’s interesting that a medical doctor can finally come out with a book saying some of what many others have been saying for years and only now does the public listen. What has the American public been listening to that they could ignore the valuable information that has been out there for so long? Since my area of professional expertise involves biomechanics, posture and movement education, and exercise, I was particularly disappointed with the quality of these sections. They obviously weren’t written by some one with comprehensive and sophisticated theoretical, clinical, AND practical knowledge and skills in this area (these chapters looked like something a graduate student in exercise physiology would crank out for a low grade master’s thesis). The exercises were lacking in detail and precision, many more important exercises and exercise concepts were totally neglected, important qualitative aspects of proper biomechanics were almost totally ignored, drawings were poor and often depicted non-optimal technique, etc., etc. The information lead me to believe that none of the authors has a high level, in-depth clinical understanding of working with patients with these kinds of disorders on a day-in, day-out basis. Otherwise, they would realize that the people who need a biomechanically oriented program the most would be the least likely to carry it out effectively given the information in this book. Just one small example – flexibility is stressed as the cornerstone of good biomechanics. Let me propose a question – are the best athletes, dancers, etc. in the world the most flexibility or those with the best neuromuscular control? What about the patient with constitutional or local hypermobility who is too flexible? I rest my case. I took particular umbrage with the statements regarding a physical therapist on pg. 39 including the quote “… you will have little need for a physical therapist …”. The fact remains that almost 100% of the population, when performing an exercise or movement for the first time by attempting to imitate what they see in a picture, will perform it improperly. I could go on and on but the net result is that I was disappointed with the quality of this book. I would have hoped for better.

I was involved in a motorcycle accident several years back, which had left me with severe arthritis in several joints.

After reading Dr. Theo’s book, my doctor and I decided to try to implement his program of nutrition and excercise, as well as the use of Chondroitin and Glucosamine taken in supplement form.

All I can say is THANK YOU DR. THEO!

The book was well written, clear and concise. Dr. Theo has a great ability to turn medical jargon into easily understood terms. He provides useful insights, many of which seem specific to my condition. I have seen many doctors, most of whom prescribe pain-killers and anti-inflammatory drugs only. Dr. Theo shows us a better way.

If you or anyone you know, has arthritis, you must read this book!

My elderly aunt has been plagued with arthritis for years and hasn’t
always been willing to try alternative treatments. As her pain
progressed we convinced her to try the glucosamine and condroitan
blends. She is seeing substantial improvements! Our daughter is taking
it as a way to heal her back injuries due to an accident. She no
longer needs those heavy duty pain killers. Buy both of Theodosakis’
books and see for yourself….Treat arthritis naturally and see how
much better you feel without those pain killers that make your mind
    fuzzy.
